Holy Land Subic Sanctuary

Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Bataan, Philippines

Holy Land Subic Sanctuary
The 'Western or Wailing Wall' at the Holy Land Subic
Along Subic-Tipo Expressway is a religious sanctuary built for pious activities and a perfect pilgrimage site during the Lenten season. Its construction started in 2010 in a forested area adjacent to Subic Bay Freeport Zone's Security Plaza. This 15-hectare religious theme park in Subic was once an Aeta ancestral domain. Since its opening in 2012, Holy Land Subic is visited by tourists in Subic, pilgrims, spiritual groups and families from nearby towns and provinces.

The place has a biblical setting with life-sized statues, replica, and depictions from the old and new testaments. Retreats were held here but there is no regular mass.

This photo tour will show you what to see and expect when you visit The Holy Land Subic Sanctuary.

Holy Land Parking Area
The parking area of Holy Land Subic Sanctuary
Holy Land Subic Sanctuary has a wide parking area that can host large numbers of vehicles. This biblical theme park in Subic is not accessible through public transportation except by cab. To reach this place, you have to take a taxi from Subic Bay Freeport Zone. Lucky for those who have private vehicles they will not spend a lot on taxi fare.

Holy Land Subic Sanctuary Chapel's Interior

The chapel is inviting you can't resist entering to meditate. The architectural design is modernized with a high altar and effigies of Mother Mary, Jesus Christ, and Joseph. It has an aisle brightened by stained windows decorated with saint's images.

A Bethesda Fountain was erected on the right side of the chapel. Groups of life-size statues can be found close to it (The Third Glorious Mystery, The 5th Glorious Mystery, and Our Lady of Undoer of Knots).

A closer look at the Saints
The Western Wall or Wailing Wall already has plenty of paper slips in the cracks for petitions. There are six scrolls of petitions hanged on the wall (Thanksgiving, Financial Healing, Spiritual Healing, Mental and Emotional Healing, Physical Healing, and General Petitions). Behind the Wailing Wall is the Prayer Wall of Saints.

Holy Land Subic Cafe
Limited drinks are sold here
Cafe Jerusalem is the only restaurant available in the area. It sells limited food and refreshments so if you're in a big group, I suggest you bring your own food.

The Lion's Gate
Lion's Gate or St. Peter's Gate in Christian name is also represented in Holy Land Subic. This leads to the Way of the Cross trekking area where you can see more of the park's depiction of the holy walled city. If you opt not to trek, you can rent a golf cart.

Since Khumar was having a hard time walking we rented a golf cart to see more of Holy Land. The driver was also our tour guide.

There are more statues at Holy Land it took us thirty minutes to stroll the area including a mini zoo with camels and donkeys. I believe these animals came from Zoobic Safari because of the signage at the stable.
