El Kabayo Falls is located in the forested area of Binictican in Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Zambales. It boasts two cascading waterfalls a few meters away from each other. The first level of the waterfalls is about five feet deep during the rainy season, the second is fifteen feet in depth. It is one of the major picnic grounds in Subic Bay where you can have a picnic and cook your own food. The latter will cost you additional expense, though.

Visiting these waterfalls when in Subic as a side trip is recommended. It is a ten to fifteen minutes of trekking from the waterfalls' marker at El Kabayo Road to the site. The trail is easy but can get muddy after the rain so a little care should be done during this time. This is also offered as one of the destinations when having the El Kabayo Stable rides.

The Entrance Fee is fifty pesos per person and it will be collected by the caretaker once you reach the area. A picnic will cost you one hundred pesos and an overnight stay for five hundred pesos. We opted just to see the place and swim. There is no lifeguard available so be careful when you dive in its 15-foot deep plunge pool.

How to get to El Kabayo Falls

From Manila, take a bus bound to Olongapo City or Iba. Travel time usually takes four hours but it can be shortened to three and a half hours, or less when the bus takes SCTEX route. Stop at Harbor Point Subic when you reach Subic Bay Freeport Zone and take a cab to El Kabayo Falls. When in private vehicle, take Argonaut or Maritan Highway in SBFZ then turn left for El Kabayo Road. When you pass El Kabayo Riding Stables, a few more meters, you will reach the waterfall's marker. From there, the short trek begins.
