Mt. Pundaquit trekking is a famous activity in Barangay Pundaquit in San Antonio Zambales. This mountain is also an alternative way to Anawangin Cove. Famous for its volcanic white sand and shore almost carpeted by Agoho trees. Our guide told us, the trail to Mt. Pundaquit traversing Anawangin Cove and Talisayin Cove is called Linasin Trail. It has waterfalls that only appear during the rainy season.

Barangay Pundaquit San Antonio, Zambales is also popular because of its pristine beaches and coves. It has two famous islands called Capones Island and Camara Island, as well as the Pundaquit Falls. This barangay is our jump off on our 'chasing waterfalls' activity.

The Trail to Linasin Falls of Mt. Pundaquit
The plan was to visit the waterfalls in Linasin Trail. The route was a sandy path with grasses on both sides. Unoccupied nipa huts used for filming local telenovela were along the way. We had to cross a river with ease because of its weak current. Then an ascending trail starts with boho bamboo vegetation.

There were puddles of mud along the trail making our footfalls noisy and it almost destroyed the slippers of my friends. Slippery as it gets but once we were up high, the path became friendly and safe for trekkers.
Going down to the river |
After an hour a river with cascading waterfalls was visible. The roaring sound of water that gushed onto the rocks excited us. We had to go down to the riverbank to explore the rest of the waterfalls.

The water curtains of the waterfalls were spectacular and definitely good for picture perfect! There were two infinity pools to swim in. Two of them from different waterfalls.

We stayed on the edge of the plunge pool 12 feet deep with an area wide enough for swimming. The group enjoyed cliff jumping and swimming. The water was clear like a cellophane, enabling us to see down to the bottom.
